Falling Leaves

I caught them
in the corner
of my eye
tumbling around
in an alleyway
settling
in the base
of a clay flower pot
keeping warm
under
a geranium
catching the last
warm rays
of the sun
and i sighed
that spring
is now
a thing
of the past
