Thump Thump Thump

The Bonny Blog a future poet
watches helplessly

as inspired thoughts
trip over themselves
losing momentum
free falling into a spiral
down the bannister
getting unrecognizably bruised
like a soft banana
turning to mush
but somehow still posturing
defying to survive
stuck in her craw
vowing to stay alive
until retrieved
as an adult

and written
in hindsight

  1. This is very astute and poetic.

  2. Thank you Linda! 🙂

lol. The thump, thump, thump had me chuckling. Interesting thought.

  4. I love that illustration as much as Christopher Milne probably hated it. I hope I never do that to the future poets who are my own children. Of course, if my writing never gets published and read, then no worries, right?

  5. Had that “sketch” in my photos for ages. Didn’t realize it was CM’s. Thanks for noting. I will give due credit. 🙂
