The Workaholic

digging
his forte

deepening
his stronghold
inch by inch

working
into a frenzy
close
to tunneling

beneath
the petunias
past the roses
unearthing stepping-stones
near buddha

toppling anything
in his path
on a mission

eyeing
a mound
piled
2 stories high
at a neighbors

enticement
a dog
just
cannot
resist

his mistress
wisecracker
just as fanatical

guess
it runs
in the family
