The Chauffeur

his family
lives in another state
he is hard of hearing
and rheumatism
keeps him from socializing
in town
twenty miles away

so
every sunday
gramps
takes the old jalopy out
for a ride
around the barn

attached to the rumble seat
a spider family
hangs on for dear life
the only ones
who will ride with him

and he is grateful
for their company

  1. 😦
I hope his family comes to visit soon. He sounds like a sweet old man who misses them very much.

  2. You are ON!
